Whole Wheat Soft Prezels

These pretzels are a favorite in my house.

The kids love them and they go so well with any meal.  You can be like the Target store and add cheese on top, or butter and salt, or cinnamon sugar!

If you use whole white wheat flour, no one will ever even know these are whole wheat!  Now you don't have to spend $2 for one at the mall when you can spend $2 and make a WHOLE batch!!!

I got this recipe from Heavenly Homemaker.  Great step by step tutorial.

It is a wonderful website with lots of yummy whole wheat recipes.

I had to add about a cup extra of flour.  Also, you really do need to use a thermometer when heating the milk and butter so you don't over cook it.  It will kill the yeast if you do.  If you don't have a thermometer just make sure that you can stick your finger into the warm liquid and it should be pretty warm, but not burning.
