Whole Wheat Crescent Rolls

Ok, I made these yesterday with some spilt pea soup and ham... The hubby already asked if we can have them again on Sunday (tomorrow)!

Whole Wheat Crescent Rolls

1/2 cup milk, warm
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter, softened
3 cups whole white wheat flour
3 tbsp gluten
3 tbsp sugar
3/4 ts salt
1 1/4 ts yeast
2 tbsp melted butter, set aside.

Mix first 8 ingredients.

Let rise for 90 minutes.

Roll into large rectangle, about 1/3 inch thick.

Using a pizza cutter, cut into triangles. Like cutting 'W's into the dough. They should be long and fairly skinny. I got 9 out of my batch.

Brush melted butter on the triangles.

Starting with the fat side of the triangle roll up into a crescent roll.

Place on greased stone or cookie sheet and let rise for 30-40 minutes.

Bake for 8-10 minutes at 375!

I like to brush a little extra butter on after they bake! Yum!

  1. Wonderful! My family only eats whole grains so it's great to find recipes. Thanks for sharing!
